Taj Mahal – the epitome of love

Share this post Taj Mahal - the epitome of love

Taj mahal holds a very special place in my heart because Chirag got down on one knee and asked me to marry him in front of this iconic symbol of love.

Whenever I look back and think about that very special day, I still get butterflies in my stomach. I Met Chirag when I was 5 years old. He was one of my first friends since kindergarten. We had almost all the same classes and even sat on the same bench for years during our school days. For as long as I have known him, Chirag has always been a spontaneous person who goes all out in whatever he does. I knew he is really good at planning things and paying attention to details, but this time he simply blew my mind.

I had no clue about what was going on behind my back for the past six months before he proposed. He had been talking to my entire family and close friends about planning the perfect proposal, booking flights, cars, hotels and searching the perfect spot to pop the question. He didn’t say a word when I insisted him to join me on my Delhi trip so that we could visit the Taj Mahal together. In fact, he said he had a very important meeting to attend in Mumbai so he couldn’t join me. I had no idea he had the entire trip planned from Surat to Mumbai to Delhi to Agra with multiple trains, flights and car rides to make sure our paths don’t cross before he meets me directly at the Taj Mahal.

Out of nowhere, when I saw Chirag sitting on his knees at the Taj Mahal, my heart just skipped a beat. For a few seconds, I thought it was a dream. Never in my wildest dreams, could I have imagined something like this. I was still in shock when he asked me “will you marry me?” All I remember was my body reacting to his words as he put a ring on my finger and my mind and heart still processing the overload of all the emotions.

Since that day till this very moment, I feel like I am the luckiest girl alive.
